Most are 10-30ml amber glass with a dropper or orifice reducer, so the box is small and tall - roughly 30 x 30 x 85mm for a 15ml. The cap sets the height, and the glass means an insert or a snug fit is worth having.
The bottle is usually doing that job already, which is why essential oils come in amber or cobalt glass. The carton adds a complete second barrier while it is closed, which is a reason to skip a window even though the bottles photograph well.
A punched tray with a cavity per bottle, inside a two-piece box or a tray and sleeve. Sets of six and twelve are the common counts. Bottles standing loose in a partitioned box will clink, which is the sound customers associate with cheap packaging.
