For single cartridges, a tube holds the product centred without an insert and resists crushing better than a flat-sided carton of the same weight. It also stands upright in a dispensary case, where a slim carton tends to lie down and lose its facing.
Yes - a tube has no folds, so the artwork runs continuously with only a single seam to plan around. Keep logos and codes clear of that seam, and the rest of the surface is uninterrupted, which is not true of any folding carton.
They do not ship flat, so a case of tubes takes more volume than the same count of folding cartons. Worth allowing for in storage planning if you hold stock, and worth weighing against the better protection they give a single glass cartridge.
