Tight enough that the device does not move. On a box 20-45mm wide, two millimetres of slack is audible when the pack is shaken and reads as cheap before the customer has seen the product. We cut to your device rather than to a stock size.
A seal-end box is the most tamper-evident folding carton, since both ends are glued and it has to be torn to open. Lighter options are a glued tuck flap, a shrink band, or a security sticker across the opening - all of which let the box be opened without damage.
