If the dates touch the board directly, yes - tell us at the quote stage, since it is a stock specification rather than a finish and cannot be added later. Where the dates sit in a tray or liner inside the box, standard retail board is fine.
A punched tray with a cavity per piece, in counts of 9, 12, 16 or 24. Dates are sticky and soft enough to mark each other, so separating them protects the presentation as much as the product - which is most of the value in a gift box.
This is a gifting category, particularly around Ramadan and Eid, so foil and embossing on a rigid two-piece box are the usual choices. Because there are no plate or die fees, a seasonal design can run at 100 units alongside your core box.
