A box that wraps around the product and folds shut like a hardback cover, with the opening along the long edge rather than at one end. It presents the contents flat when opened rather than requiring them to be slid out.
Flat and shallow items - stationery, media, documents, sample cards, flat electronics accessories. It is also a common press-pack and gifting format, because the opening reveals the whole contents at once.
On its own it is a presentation box rather than a shipper. It closes tidily for handing over or for placing inside an outer, but for a courier network it needs a corrugated mailer around it like any folding carton.
